Good Friday Assembly

For those of you who attended this Zoomed service and for those who didn’t here is our first attempt at a virtual assembly. Very many thanks to all those who gave of their talents to make this possible, not least Gerry Mulvenna who is still recovering in hospital. Get well soon, Gerry!
Thank you for your comments back to us (always welcome) about the experience. Mary Thomson writes:

Firstly, many thanks to all who help in producing the update each week. Keeping in touch spiritually feels more important at this time than ever before.
The gathering on Good Friday was very special. Holy week is my favourite week in the Church calendar, mainly because of the ecumenical services we attend throughout the week, but the Good Friday service at Gracemount High is the most emotional service of all and I was feeling quite sad that it couldn’t take place this year. However, the service we had on Zoom was a wonderful alternative and, apart from the excellent content of the service, it was lovely to see so many of our parishioners and to know we were celebrating with our community.
I am especially enjoying the reflection on the Sunday readings that Fr Alex gives us, along with seeing the person who has chosen a hymn and listening to that hymn. It also helped hearing Pat Thomas read the bidding prayers last week and hearing Fr Mike tell us the news about Gerry Mulvenna. Somehow seeing the faces and hearing the voices is very comforting.
Keep up the good work as you are all appreciated so much and perhaps one of these days we might even be able to have Mass Zoomed to us from one of our own parish Houses.
Love to all who help in any way.
Mary Thomson
The Good Friday Assembly shows what is possible within our cluster in terms of providing a means for us to gather together prayerfully. Tell us what you think of it
Keeping our community and faith life alive and active
Let’s continue to pray for one another and especially those who are experiencing any difficulties during this challenging time. With our prayers, best wishes and Easter blessings.
