The Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ

The following resources are in the form of a video presentation
  • The readings for the feastday (a useful commentary on these readings here)
  • A Gospel Reflection by Fr Alex and Fr Mike
  • Prayers of Intercession
  • Our Cluster Prayer
  • Final Blessing
After you have watched our Prayer Resources we would encourage you to sit and reflect quietly on what the Word of God is saying to you this weekend. The questions below are simply suggestions but if you find them helpful then use them.

As we are set to be away from our church buildings for some time yet, we would ask you to consider the idea of forming small groups which can meet over the internet (or 1 to 1 over the phone) and share your thoughts and feelings about God's Word from any of the resources you have watched. We can put you in touch with a group should you want that. Please email us.         cluster.alpha@outlook.com
Questions for reflection.
(Framed for a group discussion  but can be reflected on individually)

•    “The gospel comes with an RSVP. It is an invitation asking for a response."
Find time this week to read either today’s gospel or that of the following week (Matt 10: 26-33). What do you think it is asking you personally to do?
Discuss it with a friend.

•    Have you thought about developing your faith in some way? Joining a group? Doing a course? If you are not sure, pray for guidance – and talk to a fellow parishioner.

•    The Israelites, threatened with starvation, were given manna in the desert. Have you felt “starved” of the Eucharist?
Look for the “manna” in this time of lockdown. God always provides.

End of Prayer resource

"St Paul uses the loaf
as a symbol of our unity in Christ.
When we gather together
to celebrate Eucharist at weekends,
we form the body of Christ, the Church.
Together we become the Bread of Life for others.
This is an even greater miracle
than the loaf of bread."
