Hymn of the Week is back
Thanks for the lovely music choices while ‘Hymn of the week’ (and me) took a refreshing pause. We are back for Advent with lots of exciting music, ideas and conversation starters. Most of our videos in the coming weeks are recorded by our own musicians. There will be a couple of suggestions for youtube links for people to explore if they want to look further from the newsletter.

For our 1st Sunday in Advent, we have 2 pieces which we would like to include:
In the Bleak Midwinter
one loved by our music groups and beautifully performed by Pat.
This week we are told to ‘Be watchful, you do not know when the time will come.’ This hymn starts by describing a frozen Earth, not ready for new life to burst forth. But God finds a place when we least expect it for His work to be done. So be ready. And trust that you are exactly what God needs you to be to play your part in His Kingdom.

I wanted to share the
Hymn to St Catherine as this week, on 25th November, it was our feast day! Many of you may remember singing this hymn whether at school or at our feast day Mass. This hymn has been around for some time. Maybe some might feel inspired to make a new St Catherine’s hymn? We would welcome all suggestions!
