Pentecost Sunday B

The following resources are in the form of a video presentation

  • The readings for the day
  • (a useful commentary on these readings here )
  • A Gospel Reflection by Fr Alex
  • Prayers of Intercession
  • Closing reflective music

Having listened to the readings, the homily and the prayers, you might want simply to reflect yourself on what you have heard and how that might flow into your coming week. Some people have found it very helpful to meet with others and share their thoughts.

If you are interested  in joining a small group to share your thoughts and feelings about God's Word from any of the resources you have watched please email us.         cluster.alpha@outlook.com

Questions for reflection (framed for a group discussion)

The effects of the first coming of the Holy Spirit were dramatic and life-changing - for the followers of Jesus and for those who became followers on that very day.

It was "Divine Renovation Max"

  1. Longing to get back to the comfort of a weekend liturgy and seeing old friends? That's good, but it's maintenance...
Reflect on what your mission might be in the coming week.
  2. "Peace be with you." These are Jesus' words today through the Spirit. Take some time to reflect on them for yourself before passing them on to others.

Preparing for next week

For those who would like to start reflecting on next week's gospel,

the text can be found here.

Preparing for next week’s gospel:

Feast of the Holy Trinity

Matt 28:16-20     Baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son

and of the Holy Spirit.

Question for reflection (framed for a group discussion)

"Encounter the Trinity in creation, salvation and sanctification.

Make time for the beauty of the natural world.

Participate in the saving work of justice and love.

Acknowledge the presence of the holy in every human soul."

From "This Transforming Word" by Alice Camille (Acta Publications)

  1. How has your view about God changed during your lifetime? What caused the change?
  2. How do you experience Jesus as "with you always" as He promised?
