Feast of Pentecost

The following resources are in the form of a video presentation
  • The readings for the Feast of Pentecost  (a useful commentary on these readings here)
  • A Gospel Reflection by Fr Alex and Fr Mike
  • Prayers of Intercession
  • Our Cluster Prayer
  • Final blessing
  • Closing Hymn: As I kneel before you...
After you have watched our Prayer Resources we would encourage you to sit and reflect quietly on what the Word of God is saying to you this weekend. The questions below are simply suggestions but if you find them helpful then use them.

As we are set to be away from our church buildings for some time yet, we would ask you to consider the idea of forming small groups which can meet over the internet (or 1 to 1 over the phone) and share your thoughts and feelings about God's Word from any of the resources you have watched. We can put you in touch with a group should you want that. Please email us.         southedclust@btinternet.com

Questions for reflection.        (Framed for a group discussion  but can be reflected on individually)
  • “The gifts of the Spirit come like Ikea flat-packs. They need to be worked on and assembled.”
[The fruits of the Spirit: Love, joy, peace, patience and kindness; goodness, trustfulness, gentleness and self-control.]   Choose one and think how you could start on it this week
  • Pray and reflect on the “Come Holy Spirit” prayer each day
  • Have you ever been able to support someone who was not peace with themselves? When you need peace where do you seek it?

End of Prayer resource
Come Holy Spirit!
Fill the hearts of your faithful people
and kindle in us the fire of your love.
Help us to renew the face of the earth
by loving unconditionally
as Jesus taught us.
Come Holy Spirit!
