What is Divine Renovation?

Divine Renovation came out of a real experience of renewal. Fr. James Mallon along with the team at Saint Benedict Parish in Halifax, Canada transformed their parish into a vibrant community of missionary disciples. Pastors, priests and leaders from around the world took notice. The Divine Renovation ministry with its events, books, coaching, and resources is a response to the incredible hunger for renewal. The ministry desires to inspire and equip every leader out there so that they can move their parish from maintenance to mission.
Following a Divine Renovation Launch Sessionon Friday 13th April 2018, groups met every two weeks between 21st/22nd April and 30th June/1st July.  In advance of each session the participants read one or more chapters of the book and reflected on the discussion topics that for that session.  They then came together to share on the discussion topics.  In order to accommodate everybody, there were three separate sessions each fortnight – on a Saturday morning in St Gregory’s; on a Sunday afternoon in St Catherine’s; on a Sunday evening in St John Vianney’s.
In parallel to this, a group for children 8+ and a group for teenagers met on a Saturday afternoon.  They explored the discussion topics in a way that was relevant for them.
Around 60 people, including our young people, participated in the reading and discussion.  The overwhelming consensus of this group was that we needed to now set about implementing the vision of moving our parishes from maintenance to mission.
