Cluster Questionnaire by telephone
Dear Parishioner,
You will be aware that as we enter Phase 3, church buildings may open from 15th July 2020. A lot of work will be needed for us to reopen buildings in an orderly and safe way. As the obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains suspended, it is only prudent and sensible to consult you to gauge what level of interest and support there may be for an imminent return to church services.
It would be helpful to know how you used our weekend resources which we made available during lockdown and your hopes for returning to church.
It is also important that you are aware of the following conditions involved in opening up the church building:
• You must wear a face covering before entering the church and throughout the service, and use the hand sanitisers provided at the door. Please bring your own face covering.
• There will be no singing or chanting or any physical greeting at any time.
• The Communion Host will be distributed at the end of Mass.
• You must leave the church immediately after receiving the Host.
• We are unable to offer a Children’s Liturgy.
• Toilets will not be available for use.
• In order to maintain social distancing, you will need to:
For our buildings to re-open and stay open, several teams of parishioners are needed to:
• Source and maintain stock control of personal protective equipment (aprons, face coverings, gloves, sanitisers, disinfectants)
• Clean and disinfect the fabric of the building after a service (preferably 72 hours after a service)
• Act as stewards on the day who will regulate parishioners entering and leaving the building as well checking their booking and monitoring social distancing
To ensure all elements are in place, we need a parish co-ordinator to oversee processes such as booking, rotas, training and the provision of PPE.
If you are aware of any parishioners who are unable to access or return it online, please contact southedclust@btinternet.com with a name and telephone number if possible.
