Sisters and brothers,

Healing forms part of the Church’s ministry. Not all of our wounds are physical, many are self-inflicted.

Faith gives us courage that can find a way, just as surely now as did the faith of the haemorrhaging woman in today’s gospel.

Cluster Mass for SS Peter and Paul

There will be a Mass for the Cluster at St John Vianney's on Tue 29 June at 7pm. Go here to book online or

phone:   07898 170 282

The one phone number for the Cluster: 07877 121 402

We now have a single new phone number which will act as the first point of call for all three parishes. The old numbers for the parishes will be decommissioned, with the exception of the Mass Booking numbers which will continue meantime.

Fr Alex thanks everyone for their good wishes and generosity - and Bobo seconds that!

Can I say a massive THANK YOU to you all for your cards and gifts that you sent to me on the occasion of my Silver Jubilee. There is no ‘OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND’ in these parishes. Sadly, the only thing that I did lose out on – for the moment anyway - was to be able to celebrate Mass with you all. As I said on Sunday, the irony that I am back in the area where my ministerial Priesthood started is not lost on me and I am so appreciative of the great platform you gave me as I started that journey 25 years ago. I will be eternally grateful. But onwards and upwards as they say. Here’s to the future. The Risen Presence of the Lord Jesus is experienced and seen through in the love his Body reflects and witnesses to. May the Love of Jesus continue to inspire and sustain us on our faith Journeys. God Bless you all.       Fr. Alex

Communions/Confirmations

Both St John Vianney's and St Catherine's Primary Schools have been heavily involved in the sacramental preparation for both Confirmation and Holy Communion classes. Fr Alex and our parish teams too have worked tirelessly to ensure that the services all went smoothly. A huge THANK YOU to all involved - and enjoy your summer holidays!! Photos of St Catherine's here and of St John Vianney's here.

The next Cluster Group Walk will be on Saturday 3rdJuly and will be through the Dalmeny Estate from Cramond to South Queensferry. If interested please contact me.

Justice Matters:

“There is enough for every man’s need not for every man’s greed,” said Gandhi echoing Paul’s words: “The man who gathered much had none too much, the man who gathered little did not go short.” What a wonderful picture where it is as natural to give as to receive.  The readings today contain messages and actions that show God’s desire for all to live well.

SEE We see that over-consumption is dangerous, but as our “government gears up to hold the Cop26 summit in Glasgow, it continues to bail out Britain’s biggest polluters by granting tax credits to major oil and gas firms..” We also see on TV the current drought in USA.  Katharine Hayhoe, Texas, Climate scientist and chief scientist at the Nature Conservancy uses the dice as a metaphor and says  “Climate change is loading the weather dice against us. We always have a chance of rolling a double six naturally, and getting an intense record breaking summer heatwave. But decade by decade as the world warms, it’s as if climate change is sneaking in and taking one of those numbers on the dice and turning it into another six, and then another six. And maybe even a seven. So we are seeing that heatwaves are coming earlier in the year, they are longer, they are stronger.

Reflect Pope Francis says “From God's hands we have received a garden, we cannot leave a desert to our children.”   Jesus used his gifts to heal.  Do we know how we can use our gifts to act and help protect the earth?  How do we develop the gifts we need to protect the earth?  Perhaps courage to change our lifestyle or make a stand, knowing this crisis is one that can only be solved communally?

Act David Attenborough says "Building a sustainable, stable world should not be viewed only in terms of the things we must stop, but also the things we will gain." Watch the short video where he expands on this.

Last week we gave a list of websites.  One action you can do is make yourself aware of some of their content –  information brings confidence and an understanding that it is only by “my” action in both the personal and political sphere that change will happen. Don’t worry, action doesn’t need to be dramatic – it can be writing to your MP, putting a poster up, asking questions.  You are also very welcome to join the Eco Circle on Tuesdays where a small group support each other to pray and act.
