111th Brownies Edinburgh (based in our cluster)

The 111th Brownies Edinburgh, (based in our Cluster parishes), have been working on an interest badge called Charities. We invited Frank, Judith and Roxy (7mth trainee puppy) to our meeting, to talk about
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. The girls were very interested in how the puppies are trained and the vital role they play in helping deaf people who need their help. The girls also did their research too. It takes 2yrs or more to train a dog and they work for around 8yrs or more. The dogs are on call 24/7 all this time. They are amazing at what they do. It can cost around £40,000 which covers their training and working life.

The Brownies decided to raise money for this charity by combining learning a new activity of Bouldering, with their sponsorship of how long they could boulder for without falling off! They had so much fun and raised an amazing amount of money, £457.00. Wow fantastic! 👍😁 Thank you girls.
The leaders are so proud of our small group of girls for raising so much money for this small vital charity. The girls handed over the money to Frank, Judith and Roxy at our meeting in March along with their thank you cards they had made too. See the photos of this great achievement.
