Seventh Sunday of Easter

The following resources are in the form of a video presentation

  • The readings for the day
  • (a useful commentary on these readings here )
  • A Gospel Reflection by Fr Alex
  • Prayers of Intercession
  • Closing reflective music

Having listened to the readings, the homily and the prayers, you might want simply to reflect yourself on what you have heard and how that might flow into your coming week. Some people have found it very helpful to meet with others and share their thoughts.

If you are interested  in joining a small group to share your thoughts and feelings about God's Word from any of the resources you have watched please email us.         cluster.alpha@outlook.com

Questions for reflection (framed for a group discussion)

"Bread and wine are pretty ordinary things until God gets hold of them. And when Jesus claims our hearts, our basic unworthiness is transformed by God's desire, not by our own merit. We're made worthy, consecrated to be Eucharist for all who are hungry for food the world cannot give."

This Transforming Word by Alice Camille (Acta Publications)

  1. Reflect/discuss in your group, ways of being Eucharist to those you meet this week.
  2. What are some of the values of your faith community that you can show to the world?

Preparing for next week

For those who would like to start reflecting on next week's gospel,

the text can be found here.

Preparing for next week’s gospel:

Pentecost Sunday
John 20:19-23     As the Father sent me,

so am I sending you: receive the Holy Spirit.

Question for reflection (framed for a group discussion)

The effects of the first coming of the Holy Spirit were dramatic and life-changing - for the followers of Jesus and for those who became followers on that very day.

It was "Divine Renovation Max"

  1. Longing to get back to the comfort of a weekend liturgy and seeing old friends? That's good, but it's maintenance...
    Reflect on what your
mission might be in the coming week.
  2. "Peace be with you." These are Jesus' words today through the Spirit. Take some time to reflect on them for yourself before passing them on to others.
