Sixth Sunday of the Year B

The following resources are in the form of a video presentation

  • The readings for the day
  • (a useful commentary on these readings here )
  • A Gospel Reflection by Fr Alex
  • Prayers of Intercession
  • Closing reflective music

To use the subtitles option click on the "cc" button at the bottom.

If you can't see it, move your mouse over the bottom of the screen.

Having listened to the readings and the homily, you might want simply to reflect yourself on what you have heard and how that might flow into your coming week. Some people have found it very helpful to meet with others and share their thoughts.

If you are interested  in joining a small group to share your thoughts and feelings about God's Word from any of the resources you have watched please email us.         cluster.alpha@outlook.com

Questions for reflection (framed for a group discussion)

Jesus heals the man with the skin disease and warns him not to tell anyone – aye, right! So a long queue forms for healing by Jesus...

Imagine a queue (2metres apart!) stretching as far as the eye can see. It’s not for the latest iphone nor even for a level 4 takeaway coffee – no, it lies behind your computer screen when you switch it on. If you could look through the window on Windows you would see a queue of many people who are desperately looking for simple support or just a wee chat to break up their long day.

1. Make contact with someone you haven’t been in touch with recently. Believe me, they are doing you the favour.

2. With places of worship closed, maybe for some time yet, if you can’t go to Jesus, bring Jesus alive in your everyday life. (Share how you might do this in your group)

Preparing for next week

For those who would like to start reflecting on next week's gospel,

the text can be found here.

Preparing for next week’s gospel:  First Sunday of Lent Year B

Mark 1:12-15  Jesus was tempted by Satan, and the angels looked after him.

During Lent, the cluster will host sessions on Monday evenings.

These sessions will provide prayerful materials and would form

an ideal way of preparing for next week's gospel.
