Sixth Sunday of Easter

The following resources are in the form of a video presentation

  • The readings for the day
  • (a useful commentary on these readings here )
  • A Gospel Reflection by Fr Alex
  • Prayers of Intercession
  • Closing reflective music

Having listened to the readings, the homily and the prayers, you might want simply to reflect yourself on what you have heard and how that might flow into your coming week. Some people have found it very helpful to meet with others and share their thoughts.

If you are interested  in joining a small group to share your thoughts and feelings about God's Word from any of the resources you have watched please email us.         cluster.alpha@outlook.com

Questions for reflection (framed for a group discussion)

"...I call you friends, because I have made known to you

everything I have learnt from my Father...."

As parishioners of the cluster, we're not in this relationship for the length of Divine Renovation, we're in it for life.

Find time this week in your prayerful relationship with Jesus to think about:

  1. Your fruitful efforts of last week - always better to be positive and hopeful than feeling guilty
  2. As we move nearer to full complements at weekend Mass, what is worth keeping and what needs to be pruned and let go?

Preparing for next week

For those who would like to start reflecting on next week's gospel,

the text can be found here.

Preparing for next week’s gospel:

Seventh Sunday of Easter
John 17:11-19 That they may be one like us!

Question for reflection (framed for a group discussion)

"Bread and wine are pretty ordinary things until God gets hold of them. And when Jesus claims our hearts, our basic unworthiness is transformed by God's desire, not by our own merit. We're made worthy, consecrated to be Eucharist for all who are hungry for food the world cannot give."

This Transforming Word by Alice Camille (Acta Publications)

  1. Reflect/discuss in your group, ways of being Eucharist to those you meet this week.
  2. What are some of the values of your faith community that you can show to the world?
