Fourth Sunday of Advent B

The following resources are in the form of a video presentation

  • The readings for the day
  • (a useful commentary on these readings here )
  • A Gospel Reflection by Fr Alex
  • Prayers of Intercession
  • Final Blessing
  • Closing reflective music

Having listened to the readings and helped by Fr Alex's reflection on them, you might want simply to reflect yourself on what you have heard and how that might flow into your coming week. Some people have found it very helpful to meet with others and share their thoughts.

If you are interested  in joining a small group to share your thoughts and feelings about God's Word from any of the resources you have watched please email us.         cluster.alpha@outlook.com

Questions for reflection (framed for a group discussion)

Here are some suggested questions you may find helpful.

Mary is both the first and the model missionary disciple.

Her “yes” to God brings Jesus into the world – literally.

1. In our vision statement, we talk about “bringing Christ to others”. How might we realise something of that over this Christmas time?

2. The pandemic, like all such situations of adversity, has brought the best out in some people. Focus on a positive aspect of this situation where people have gone out of their way to help others. (Share it in your group if you are in one.)

3. Over the Christmas weekend, make a special effort to bring some joy into the lives of the people you meet: a smile, or come carrying the simple gift of kindness. Nothing goes unnoticed by Emmanuel – the God who is always with us.

Preparing for next week
