22nd Sunday B

The following resources are in the form of a video presentation

  • The readings for the day
  • (a useful commentary on these readings here )
  • A Gospel Reflection by Fr Alex
  • Prayers of Intercession
  • Closing reflective music

Having listened to the readings, the homily and the prayers, you might want simply to reflect yourself on what you have heard and how that might flow into your coming week. Some people have found it very helpful to meet with others and share their thoughts.

If you are interested  in joining a small group to share your thoughts and feelings about God's Word from any of the resources you have watched please email us.         cluster.alpha@outlook.com

Questions for reflection (framed for a group discussion)

  1. Describe a time when your heart led you to do something good,
yet the "law" had stood in the way.
  2. Which words of Jesus provide the most inspiration
for the Christian work that you do?

Preparing for next week

For those who would like to start reflecting on next week's gospel,

the text can be found here.

Preparing for next week’s gospel:

Mark 7:31-37     He makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak.

If you're in a connect group or a Bible Study group, you really need to pay attention - and it can be very rewarding. You gain confidence to talk about your faith to people and you hear about others' faith. You start opening up about your beliefs and values.

It's a bit of an "ephphatha" moment right enough, but worth it.

  1. How has the pandemic period opened up new ways in your faith journey?
  2. When has your faith in Jesus enabled you to speak out on an issue of importance?
