21st Sunday B

The following resources are in the form of a video presentation

  • The readings for the day
  • (a useful commentary on these readings here )
  • A Gospel Reflection by Fr Alex
  • Prayers of Intercession
  • Closing reflective music

Having listened to the readings, the homily and the prayers, you might want simply to reflect yourself on what you have heard and how that might flow into your coming week. Some people have found it very helpful to meet with others and share their thoughts.

If you are interested  in joining a small group to share your thoughts and feelings about God's Word from any of the resources you have watched please email us.         cluster.alpha@outlook.com

Questions for reflection (framed for a group discussion)

Peter's words echo down the centuries. Like him there is much we don't understand. The point is to believe - to fill our gaps with trust in the one

who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

  1. Can you recall a time when you trusted someone although you had your doubts, but it turned out well in the end? (Share in your group)
  2.  In what way has the example of Christian marriage (your own or that of another couple) helped you understand the relationship between Christ and his church?

Preparing for next week

For those who would like to start reflecting on next week's gospel,

the text can be found here.

Preparing for next week’s gospel:

Mark 7:1-8, 14-15, 21-23

You put aside the commandment of God to cling to human traditions.

  1. Describe a time when your heart led you to do something good,
yet the "law" had stood in the way.
  2. Which words of Jesus provide the most inspiration
for the Christian work that you do?
