In loving Memory of

Ena McCann

Ena was born on 19 April 1939 and she died on 1 May 2020

Ena joined St John Vianney’s parish as a young mother in 1965. She took part in the Women’s Guild, Prayer group, Church Cleaning and Parish Council. She was also a Eucharistic Minister. Ena loved being a member of the Church community and made many friends. We remember Ena as a loving wife to Vincent, devoted mother and grandmother.

You may add your own memories by completing the details in the form below and they will be added in due course.

A wonderful person who did so much for others willingly and happily. I have lots of fond memories of both socialising & working alongside Ena at Jericho house. We had such good times and laughed a lot. Ena was a very kind, loving and generous person who was devoted to Vincent and all her family. It was a privilege to know her.

I have such fond memories of Ena. She was always involved in every aspect of parish life and community and just such a living person with a great sense of humour. She could be very supporting and always had a dogged determination to make things work and solve any problems. She was a very good friend to my mum and dad. She was also a friend to me as I grew up and as an adult. I will always be grateful she was in my life.

Ena and I met when we started school and immediately became friends. We joined a tennis club and Ena was club champion often. Ena met Vincent and married. They were the perfect couple. I married and moved to Africa. During all those years we shared a wonderful friendship. I know Ena will be at peace as she loved and cared for everyone. Vincent continues to keep in touch so my dear friend will always be with us.

The passage from Isaiah (50: 4-7), clearly reads as though it is from a prophet. He is one who knows what God wants to say to the people, and even though his words may be unwelcomed by those he addresses, … Continue reading →
