Communion Ministers

A number of people in each of our cluster parishes are commissioned to assist in this ministry. There are three ways in which the ministry is exercised:

• The first is assisting with the distribution of communion at Mass - this enables us to always offer communion under both kinds.
• The second is taking communion to the sick and housebound. This offers a considerable number of people, who are unable to come to the church, the opportunity of being linked to the community by receiving holy communion in their own home, or one of the care homes in the area.
• The third is leading services of the Word and Communion.
