Cluster Council

When the Cluster was initially set up in 2003, the Cardinal asked that a series of mechanisms be put in place to monitor carefully the progress of the initiative.

Initially this was that Mgr Gemmell, the City Dean, should gather the three parish Councils after six months to assess progress. This led to the setting up of an ongoing meeting of the three parish councils. This was the forum in which the sensitive issues such as rescheduling of Mass provision and timing was discussed and decided.

In time this body, which has been ascribed the name “cluster pastoral council”, has become the policy forming and decision-making organ of the cluster.
